Manta - Woolloomooloo

Manta is a restaurant in Woolloomooloo on the wharf. It is has a prime location just on the water with a view of the city, it is really magical. As many restaurants in the area, it is not cheap at $40 for  a main and $20 for starters, it is really on the expensive side, but alas it is nice to go to for a nice restaurant for big occasions. For starters I decided to order arancini balls which were filled with risotto and cheese, they tasted amazing as the crispy outside shell melts in your mouth after you break it. As a main, the beef cheek was ok, apart from looking amazing, it tasted very sour and came slightly burnt, cold and tasted like the drenched a beef cheek in soy sauce and charged $42 for it. I assume they cooked my dish before they cooked the others meals.

As disappointed as I was with the main course i soldiered on to the desserts, suffice to say it was impressive. All the little desserts that were shared were widely accepted by the four other guests who also enjoyed their mains. If I had to be picky I do think that the mini brownies were dry but this could be overcome by dipping it in chocolate sauce from the lava cake.
