Koi Dessert Bar - Chippendale

One of my current favourite dessert places to go to would be the KOI Dessert Bar. This is located on Kensington St, Chippendale right beside Spice Alley and is owned by a previous Masterchef contestant Reynold, who was known for making exquisite desserts. The cakes and tarts at Koi have a general price range of $9-$13, however most are all definitely worth it! Each and every one of their desserts are aesthetically pleasing, almost too pretty to eat! I have visited Koi around 4 times and my favourite has to be the guava, with the raspberry guava second! Both of these have a soft, light texture and are neither too sweet or too sour. Right in the centre there is actually filling so that it oozes out as you are eating! The guava and the raspberry guava are the two I would most definitely recommend you try.

I have previously also tried the strawberry pillow and the mango, however for my tastebuds, these looked much prettier than they tasted. The mango had sour pieces which I am not a fan of and the strawberry pillow tasted like a berry smoothie turned into a soft yoghurt cake. Overall it is still a great place to visit and enjoy dessert! They have nice modernised seating areas both downstairs and upstairs and serve coffee! Koi also serves main dessert dishes however they are much pricier, starting at $25per plate!
